Love's plans to grow its RV stop network to 200 locations by early 2028
The travel stop chain runs 137 RV stops in 37 states and has added tires, batteries and oil services, RVtravel.com reported, citing Convenience Store News.
Love's Travel Stops plans to have 150 RV stops open by the end of the year and 200 by late 2027 or early 2028, according to RVtravel.com, citing Convenience Store News.
The company now runs 137 RV stops in 37 states, Jim Wheeler, Love's senior director of hospitality and RV operations, told Convenience Store News. Love's opened its first RV stop in Guthrie, Oklahoma, in 2021. It now adds about 30 to 35 RV locations a year, the report said.
The growth is part of a larger building effort. RVtravel.com reported that the expansion goes along with Love's $700 million Road Ahead Plan for 2026, which includes new travel stops and renovations. The company aims to have more than half of its locations newly built or remodeled by 2035.
For RV travelers, the changes go beyond adding more sites. According to the report, customer feedback led to wider turning areas and spaces that fit slide-outs. Amenities include electrical hookups, drinking water, Wi-Fi, laundry and propane.
Love's has also added maintenance services. In April, tires and batteries became available at most RV stops through partnerships with Lionshead Tire & Wheel and Interstate Batteries. Installation is offered in service bays or at nearby RV hookups, and some trailer tires come mounted and balanced to cut service time.
In June, select Love's Truck Care locations added RV oil and lubrication services. The company also announced a partnership with Spartan RV Chassis to handle warranty work and chassis maintenance for Spartan motorhome owners.
Through the Love's app, travelers can reserve spaces up to a year ahead, turn on electricity when they arrive and get access codes for amenities.
According to the report, Wheeler said customers value the lighting and round-the-clock staffing at travel stops, especially when they arrive after dark or are in an unfamiliar area. Love's is presenting its RV stops as places where travelers can combine an overnight stay with fuel, meals, supplies and vehicle maintenance.
The report leaves several questions open. It does not say where the new RV stops will open, what the spaces cost, or how much of the $700 million plan will go to RV facilities. It does not list which Truck Care locations offer RV oil services, and it does not say when the Spartan partnership starts.
